Arthropod diversity on creosotebush (Larrea tridentata) and desert saltbush (Atriplex polycarpa) in the east Mojave Desert

Arthropod abundance and diversity were compared between creosote and saltbush in the eastern Mojave Desert. The arthropods were collected between May 1996 and June 1997. The diversity of arthropods was greater for creosotebush than for saltbush and changed throughout the year with changes in the weather. The most abundant arthropods were Collembola, Acarina, Pscoptera, Formicidae and Mirid bugs, which were the most abundant for all months.
