This study compares the mating strategies and breeding success of Phainopeplas in the desert and in costal woodlands. While the author could not reject her hypothesis that Phainopeplas migrate between the desert and costal woodlands to attempt breeding in both places, she did see evidence to suggest that the birds only breed in one location.
