The author surveyed the lizard community in the flats, bajada, and rock around the Granite Mountain Range. The five lizard species that were sampled were found more often in the sun and they differed in location and activity. These lizards may avoid competition by the differences in their preferred basking location, foraging strategies, and activity patterns.
