Hancock, MD - Wetland Delineation Project

EA Engineering, Science and Technology. Hancock, MD - Wetland Delineation Project. 2009-2010

Determine the presence or absence of wetlands as classified by the National Park Service (NPS) along the shoreline of the Potomac River at Dams 4 and 5 at the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historic Park (the park). The wetland delineation was performed on both the Maryland and West Virginia shorelines of the dams. The intent of the project is to determine the presence or absence of wetlands as classified by the National Park Service (NPS) along the shoreline of the Potomac River at Dams 4 and 5 at the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historic Park (the park). The wetland delineation was performed on both the Maryland and West Virginia shorelines of the dams. All four sites were visited by a wetland scientist from EA Engineering. Site visits were conducted to locate areas characterized by the NPS as wetlands in the area of the proposed eel ladders. Documentation of wetland resources at the park as part of this wetland delineation report will assist in avoiding and/or minimizing wetland impacts for the proposed activities.
