The original plan of this investigation was to operate an ultraviolet light trap for one season on Beaver Creek at the outlet of Montezuma Well. The purpose was to attract adult caddisflies which are terrestrial but whose larvae or immature stages are aquatic. The plan was to inventory the various species of caddisflies at this locality on Beaver Creek, but at the same time attempt to obtain additional adults of several rare as well as common species, and to note their seasonal distribution. No previous studies had been made of caddisflies in Beaver Creek other than sporadic collecting which I had done in past years. At this stage of our knowledge of caddisfly taxonomy, the adults present the most critical features and must be studied along with their larvae. (Copied verbatim from the report.)
