Soil investigation results for Tuzigoot National Monument

Boe CC. 1993. To: Larios J. Re: Soil investigation results for Tuzigoot National Monument

Update on status of the soil investigation following the release of fuel products from an underground storage tank removed at Tuzigoot National Monument. The investigation found the possibility of hydrocarbons in close proximity to archeological ruins and that any future migration could impact those ruins. Groundwater could also be impacted, and water quality may be of regulatory concern due to the mine tailings in the valley below Tuzigoot NM.
