For the year of 2003, 871 Plants of Texas Trailing Phlox, Phlox nivalis subspecies texensis were planted and monumented in the Big Sandy Unit as plots BS01 through BS09. Eleven plots of Texas Trailing Phlox were monitored and nine plots monumented during this time period. Plots TC01 through TC05 are located on the sand hill of the Turkey Creek Unit and plots BS01 – BS09 are located in the Big Sandy Creek Unit. Phlox nivalis is endemic to South East Texas.
