Seismic Assistants, Inc. (SAI) is proposing a three-dimentional seismic survey within the Big Sandy Creek and Menard Creek Corridor Units of the Big Thicket National Preserve ("BTNP" or "Preserve"). The project area is located approximately 16 miles southeast of Livingston, Polk County, Texas, and includes approximately 14,000 acres of Preserve lands. In general, the Vegetation Mapping and Sampling Plan will portray existing vegetation in the Big Sandy Creek Unit based on current characteristics of the vegetation during the spring and summer of 2003.
