Summary of amphibian community monitoring at Fort Matanzas National Monument, 2009

This report summarizes data collected with the SECN Amphibian Monitoring Protocol (Byrne etal. in preparation) at Fort Matanzas National Monument in 2009. Data were collected at ten spatially-balanced random locations at the monument with two techniques: automated recording devices and visual-encounter surveys. Sampling activities occurred at the monument from 5/19/2009 to 5/29/2009 and again from 8/03/2009 to 8/07/2009. 102 amphibians in 11 species, genera, families, or order; and 277 reptiles and reptile sign in 15 species, genera, or families were detected. One non-native amphibian, greenhouse frog, was detected, and one non-native reptile was detected, brown anole.
