This report summarizes data collected with the Draft SECN Amphibian Community MonitoringProtocol (Byrne et al. in preparation) at Canaveral National Seashore in 2009. Data were collected at 22 spatially-balanced random locations at the park with two techniques: automated recording devices and visual-encounter surveys. Surveys were conducted at three additional non-random locations; one at the request of CANA management and two chosen by SECN staff. Sampling activities occurred at the park from 4/14/2009 to 4/24/2009, and again from 8/12/2009 to 9/17/2009. 830 amphibians in 17 species, including two non-natives, and 365 reptiles and reptile signs in 11 species, including one non-native were detected. Three of the amphibians detected were the first recorded occurrences at the park andadditions to the species list: the non-native Cuban treefrog, and the native spring peeper and green frog.
