This is the Cumberland Piedmont Network’s (CUPN) second annual report on ozone levels and associated foliar injury. Data were collected during 2009 at Cowpens NB (COWP), Fort Donelson NB (FODO), Mammoth Cave NP (MACA) and Shiloh NMP (SHIL). Ozone level/foliar injury data and associated analyses are presented for each of these four parks. Of the four parks listed, only MACA had ozone levels that are theoretically high enough to cause foliar injury to sensitive plants. Foliar injury was confirmed at COWP, MACA and SHIL. At FODO, only one leaf was found that showed – and was confirmed for – foliar injury. Also included in this report are summary statistics of ozone data from off-park state-operated monitors for the remaining CUPN parks.
