Final Environmental Impact Statement Dosewallips Road Washout Project

The Forest Service (FS), in cooperation with the National Park Service (NPS), proposes to reestablish road access previously provided by Forest Service Road (FSR) 2610 to FS and NPS recreational facilities. The proposed action is Alternative B. FSR 2610 would be rerouted along the hillslope above and to the north of the washout to restore access for passenger cars, recreational vehicles, and vehicles pulling trailers. Approximately 0.84 mile of single lane road with turnouts would be constructed using standard construction methods. Forest Supervisor Dale Hom has identified Alternative C as the preferred alternative. FSR 2610 would be rerouted in a similar alignment to the proposed action but would utilize retaining structures to minimize the road's footprint. The NPS proposes to repair damage to the park's Dosewallips Road in the vicinity of the Dosewallips River Falls. This Final Environmental Impact Statement FEIS) considers four alternatives in detail, including the No Action alternative.
