Mr. Desporte was in the cannery business from 1917- 1929.and then entered the insurance business. He also servedas alderman for the City ofBiloxi. Mr. Desporte whose greatgrandfather came to the area in 1832 begins his reminiscenceswith the Civil War blockade of the Gulf coast.The interviewer is Melvina Lee Bulk.
