Depending on source data availability, up to five measures are included for each US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC): 1. Conservation Status - Contains available ownership data and reported management status for land holdings and marine areas. This measure provides insight into the conservation status of lands and waters surrounding parks, provides a basis for estimating changes in protection status and land conversion over time, serves as base data for estimating conservation risk, and reveals opportunities for cooperative management, conservation, and education. 2. Landcover - Derived from classifications of land cover types. This measure provides information necessary to assess the status and trends in land cover composition, configuration, and connectivity within and adjacent to parks, documents changes in development, land conversion, and succession within and outside of park boundaries, and identifies areas within and adjacent to parks where land use activities are most impacting habitat. 3. Roads - Examines the type and extent of existing transportation networks. This measure provides information necessary to estimate the amount of area without roads, serves as a basis for estimating changes in road density over time, and provides base data for estimating travel times. 4. Landscape Pattern - Maps the spatial attributes of patches and landscapes for major land cover types. This measure provides insight into the condition and integrity of the landscape at a very broad level, and identifies locations that retain the larger and more important intact areas of habitat that may be important to sustain park resources. 5. Bootprint - A synthesis reclassification of land cover and road proximity. This measure provides a relative estimate of how traversable landscapes are for resources that are negatively impacted by human-mediated drivers of landscape change. The bootprint may be suitable fo ruse as a cost surface in calculations of connectivity.For each measure, pre-processed source data, products, scripts, tools, and standard operating procedures are provided.
