This polygon dataset depicts Fuel Models for Estimating Fire Behavior in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. This layer was generated by "crosswalking" the park vegetation map. In addition, changes in the fuel model polygons were also made based on other existing GIS layers. These include exotic plant treatment areas layer, the park's roads layer, a Gypsy Moth Defoliation layer, and 2001 Earth Data International digital orthophotographs. The Fuels map was ground truthed by Douglas Raeburn, of Raeburn Environmental Services (Luray, Virginia). This map reflects ground conditions on February 21, 2005.
