A plan for monitoring in order to more thoroughly address rapid climate change in high-elevation parks, including information concerning approaches, priorities, and strategies. The NPS Greater Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, and Upper Columbia Basin Inventory and Monitoring networks developed this document to describe their process for identifying critical monitoring needs and enhancing each park’s understanding of the eff ects of climate change. The process includes identifying existing monitoring in need of enhancement, as well as new monitoring, to improve understanding of the effects of climate change on parks.
