National Park Service. 2011. Vegetation inventory applications for park management. Natural Resource Report. NPS/NRPC/BRMD/NRR—2011/342. National Park Service, Natural Resource Program Center

A compilation of abstracts describing applications of vegetation inventory data for park management. The NPS Vegetation Inventory (http://science.nature.nps.gov/im/inventory/veg/index.cfm) is one of the twelve national inventories being completed by the NPS Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) Program. This document provides an overview of many of the completed vegetation inventory projects, and some of the valuable applications that have been made of the data produced from them. This document is a compilation of text, images, and data from the reports, GIS data, and other products developed as part of those vegetation inventories. It contains a 2-page abstract for each of the 83 NPS units that had a vegetation inventory complete, or nearing completion, as of December, 2009. The goal of this document is to provide information that will provide additional insight and inspiration for the important uses the vegetation inventory products can support.
