Alaska Inventory and Monitoring Inventory Program products. The source landcover map was developed in 1997 from the August 20, 1991 Landsat Thematic Mapper path 66 row 14 scene shifted 40 percent north. Plant associations were described in 2003 to supplement the map class descriptions. Plant association is the finest scale (level V) of The Alaska Vegetation Classification (Viereck et al. 1992) and is equal to the plant association scale of the National Vegetation Classification System (Grossman etal. 1998). Sixty-nine plant associations are described for Yukon-Charley Rivers NP . The Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project is part of the NPS Vegetation Mapping Inventory Program (VMI). The NPS Vegetation Mapping Inventory Program uses the National Vegetation Classification Standard (NVCS), a classification system well integrated with the major scientific efforts in the taxonomic classification of vegetation.
