Trice T, Glibert P, Lea C, Van Heukelem L. 2004. HPLC pigment records provide evidence of past blooms of Aureococcus anophagefferens in the Coastal Bays of Maryland and Virginia, USA. Harmful Algae. 3(4):295-304
Concentrations of the accessory phytoplankton pigment 19'-butanoyloxyfucoxanthin (but-fuco), derived from archived high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) data from the Atlantic coastal bays of Maryland and Virginia (1993–1995 and 1999–2002), were used to determine the presence of Aureococcus anophagefferens at 18 stations.
