Constructing seasonal climograph overlap envelopes from Holocene packrat midden contents, Dinosaur National Monument, Colorado
Sharpe SE. 2002. Constructing seasonal climograph overlap envelopes from Holocene packrat midden contents, Dinosaur National Monument, Colorado. Quaternary Research. 57:306-313
Plant remains in packrat middens dated up to 9870 years B.P. were used to estimate seasonal temperature and precipitation values. Inferences are then made on climate-related shifts in vegetation, citing that tree species documented in middens (Picea pungens, Pinus flexilis) are no longer found within the Monument.
