Direct Impacts of Personal Watercraft (PWC) on Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) in Maryland’s Tidal waters

Based on low level aerial photography and field experimentation, submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) does not appear to be substantially directly impacted by personal watercraft PWC), except under certain conditions. Damage to SAV from indirect PWC effects (turbidity, toxicity, etc) was not addressed in this study, and would require a much more exhaustive effort to adequately evaluate.
