Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve image mosaic - natural color

2002. Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve image mosaic - natural color. AK I&M Inventory Program

MrSid compression 20:1 of pan sharpened mosaic (bands 3,2,1) of 3 Landsat Thematic Mapper 7 multispectral satellite images for Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. This Glacier Bay satellite image mosaic was created by the National Park Service Alaska Landcover Mapping Program. The August 1, 1999 TM7 scenes for path/row 59/19 and 59/18 and the August 10, 2000 TM7 scene for path/row 60/19 were used to create the mosaic. Coverage for the Park area is complete. The mosaic was created using the 30m visible bands (3,2,1) merged with the 15m panchromatic band. The resulting image has a 15m pixel size. The panchromatic band contains some infrared information that “enhances” the true color image. The mosaic is useful down to approximately 1:40,000. The source imagery was generated by the USGS EROS for NPS and was delivered in UTM – NAD 27 projection.
