Sun Exploration and Production Company has requested permission to drill an exploratory well within Padre Island National Seashore. In accordance with 36 CFR 9.36 a Plan of Operations was prepared and submitted for review to the National Park Service on October 30, 1984. Additional clarification and procedural changes were requested by the National Park Service and those documents were dated on November 5th and 9th respectively. The addition of these two documents completed the Plan of Operations which was then formally accepted by the National Park Service on November 15, 1984. The Plan of Operations has been critically reviewed by the Park Staff in order to assure protection of the natural environment by mitigating adverse impacts. If the submitted Plan adequately addresses specific requi red elements, it will be so stated and an item reference will be cited.
