Norton Basin and Little Bay are two dead end basins located in the southeastern corner of Jamaica Bay, NY. Several deep (45-65 ft) borrow pits were created in these basins. These basins have poor water quality. The US Army Corps is investigating the feasibility of habitat restoration by recontouringthese basins. The investigation includes water quality, sediment, and biological sampling, and mathematical modeling.
