Baseline Inventory of Water Resources (SARA)

Lynch P. Baseline Inventory of Water Resources (SARA). 1985-1991

Inventory of SARA's water resources (streams and ponds) to obtain data to use as baseline for further monitoring efforts. The initial objectives of this project were to : 1) To determine any levels of contamination in the water or sediments of the park, specifically guaging the local PCB problem from the Hudson River and intrusion into park land. 2) To collect baseline data of park streams and ponds to measure against State of New York standards and to use as future reference. 3) To determine the impacts on the water resource through present park management action programs (and special use permitees). 4) To determine health and safety factors for park visitors who utilize the waters of the park for recreation and irrigation purposes. Linked to this project are the original proposals, reports, and datasets produced as a driect result of this effort.
