Alternatives to invasive garden and landscape plants

Invasive Plant Council of NYS. Alternatives to invasive garden and landscape plants. Troy, NY

One half of the species on the IPC NYS Top Twenty list are still sold and used for landscaping, wildlife habitat, or erosion control. Continued availability and use of these plants increases their spread in natural areas throughout New York State and the northeast. This situation spurred the IPC to draw Lip a list of native and non- 'invasive alternatives to some of the Top 20 listed species. The IPC's goal is to provide information on non-invasive plant alternatives to homeowners, municipalities, nurseries, and garden centers for specific uses in place of invasive plants.
