This report presents an overview of the water resources, watersheds, and principal waterrelated issues in the National Park Service’s Mojave National Preserve. The Preserve, which is located in San Bernardino County, Southern California and totals nearly 1.6 million acres, provides for the preservation of natural and cultural resources, outdoor recreation, and appreciation of the California desert. The mountains of the Preserve also contain the headwaters of major desert watersheds, which are the areas where groundwater recharge occurs.
