Impacts of Visitor Spending on the Local Economy: Yosemite National Park, 2007

Stynes DJ. 2009. Impacts of Visitor Spending on the Local Economy: Yosemite National Park, 2007. National Park Service; Michigan State University. East Lansing, Michigan

The purpose of this study is to estimate the local economic impacts of visitors to Yosemite National Park (YOSE) in 2007. Economic impacts are measured as the direct and secondary sales, income and jobs in the local area resulting from spending by park visitors. Park visitor studies were conducted at Yosemite NP from July 8-17, 2005 and February 2-10, 2008. Inputs are estimated from the Yosemite NP Visitor Survey, National Park Service Public Use Statistics, and IMPLAN input-output modeling software.
