The Appalachian Trail Conference (ATC) is responsible for assisting theNew York-New Jersey Trail Conference (NYNJTC), and the National Park ServiceAppalachian Trail Park Office (ATtO) in the maintenance of the Appalachian Trail(A.T.) and the management of lands within the Appalachian National Scenic Trailcorridor in New Jersey and the resources thereon in accordance with existinglaws, the New Jersey Appalachian trail Management Plan, and the NPSA.T. Comprehensive Plan.The purpose of this agreement and project is to assist the ATC and itsabove named management partners ii fulfilling their responsibilites forprotection and management of significant natural communities andoccurrences of rare plant and aniMal species within the A.T. corridor from theDelaware River at the New Jersey-tennsylvania border to the New Jersey-New Yorkborder west of Greenwood Lake. This is to be accomplished through a fieldsurvey, and preparation of a repo t and maps of rare species and communitiesfound, and management recommendat ons concerning threats and enhancements foreach occurrence; all information till be provided in the standard format of theNew Jersey Natural Heritage Progr m (NJNHP).
