The project monitored the presence and frequency of invasive non-natives plants at Fort Pulaski National Monument. The project was focused on the answering two basic questions regarding vegetation at Fort Pulaski. The questions were to determine if exotic tree and shrub species, already established on site, were increasing in abundance and if the exotic species were possibly threatening the more pristine communities. There were two different approaches undertaken to answer these questions. The first approach involved the establishment of permanent presence/abscence transects in the more pristine portions of Fort Pulaski. The second approach involved the installation of twelve permanent photopoints scattered throughout Fort Pulaski to track gross changes in particular communities and plant species. This document contains all the data gathered from the 1998-2003 presence/abscence transects.
