A one year study of boating traffic, conflicts and impacts was performed at Timucuan Preserve, focusing on the Fort George River and smaller creeks around the Kingsley Plantation. Observations were concentrated on the summer months and also around holiday weekends, as these were believed to have the greatest traffic and potential impacts. Study methodology used both land-based observers with radar guns as well as observations over a larger area from a moving boat.
