The Loamy Mesa Top Pinyon-Juniper ecological site was selected as an important ecosystem for vegetation and bird community monitoring at Mesa Verde National Park. The Mesa Top Pinyon-Juniper woodland is a unique ecosystem containing old-growth pinyon-juniper woodland. It faces numerous threats, including changing fire regimes, climate change, and invasion by non-native species. This report documents monitoring activities in the 2007 field season and summarizes the data that were collected.
