This report contains information about four of the vital signs (camas, invasive weeds, macroinvertebrates, and water chemistry) monitored at Big Hole National Battlefield. The Upper Columbia Basin Network will continue to track these vital signs so that this information can be integrated into the park manager’s understanding of long-term changes in the park’s natural resources. This report also includes information available on several other park resources, including climate and rare species. This report is intended to be updated every three to five years and will report on the state of knowledge concerning the park’s natural resources. Future versions of this report will evolve based on user feedback and evaluation as our monitoring program continues to develop. As a first generation product, it brings into sharp focus several trends in the condition of the park’s natural resources.
