'Lake Atlantic or landlocked salmon, Salmo salar, have been stocked in Maine lakes for many years, but little quantitative information has been obtained concerning their recovery by anglers, survival rates, growth rates, and movements within the waters stocked.' 'From 1952 through 1951, fin-clipped, hatchery- reared salmon were stocked annually at Long Pond, Hancock County. From 1951 through 1958, ice and open-water-fishing creel censuses were operated to assess recovery and survival of these salmon and to obtain scale samples for growth studies. The censuses were conducted from the time the group of salmon stocked first entered the fishery until the group stocked last almost disappeared from the fishery.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Long Pond/
