FIELD WORK: June - November 1984, 1985 on Mount Desert Island; and September 1985 on Isle au Haut. WATER QUALITY: Fog and rain water samples from 5 coastal Maine sites and 2 montane sites, were analyzed for inorganic ions (Ca, Mg, K, NH4, SO4, NO3, Cl) and pH. Coastal fog was noted to be three times higher in ionic concentrations and lower in pH as compared to the montane sites /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Bar Harbor/ISLE AU HAUT/Mount Desert Rock
