GEOLOGY: Bar Harbor Series is an unfossiliferous volcanic and sedimentary unit that has long been considered Devonian in age. Rb-Sr data from the Bar Harbor volcanics on Mount Desert Island yield an age of 408 +/- 27 M.Y. (thus middle Silurian in age) /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND
