MAMMALS: This annual report records that 2 exclosures were relocated on Mount Desert Island and that S. Schemnitz established and measured vegetation plots adjacent to the 1967 exclosures built near Upper Hadlock Pond. This report does not present any data. The annual report for 1967 presents data from a browse survey conducted on 720 plots, assessing browse on 11 species (RM - Vol. 1 of Deer Information). FIRE: Reports that a re-analysis was made on the 10 study plots near Thunder Hole (Griffin and Richards 1957 - a study of the ecological effects of fire).
