'This analysis of the vulnerability of the 48 "Class I" national parks, a designation intended to protect them from air pollutant impacts, indicates that many of these parks are at risk. Vulnerability was based on predicted responses of each park's vegetation to gaseous pollutants and each park's surface waters to acidic deposition.' Assesses the Park's potential vulnerability to sulfate, ozone and acid precipitation by listing species present and relative abundance in the Park, and their general degree of sensitivity to ozone and sulfate. Acadia National Park was considered 'potentially vulnerable' to acidic precipitation, and considerably vulnerable to ozone and other gaseous pollutants including sulfate. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /ACADIA NATIONAL PARK/
