This is the first work conducted with regard to the Worcester Landfill leachate problem. Water quality tests were taken twice a year and measured: discharge, temperature, oxygen, pH, conductivity, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, nitrogen (organic), phosphorous, hardness, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chloride, sulfate, and selected metals. Results revealed presence of unionized ammonia (.02 mg/l); low dissolved oxygen levels (3.6); elevated levels of nitrogen; and that other dissolved constituents were present at elevated concentrations.
