'The purpose of this planning effort is to: A. Understand and desciribe the existing physical environment, human community and community infrastructure of Isle au Haut and the internal and external forces which affect the community now, and which may affect its future; B. Understand and describe the attitudes, opinions and aspirations of the members of the Isle au Haut community toward their community, its problems and its future; C. Understand and describe for the members of the Isle au Haut community the problems faced by the community and its probable future, assuming that certain conditions, trends, pressures, and demands continue; D. Understand and describe for the members of the Isle au Haut community the options and alternatives available to them, in terms of alternative futures from which they will be able to more effectively select the particular future they wish to pursue; and E. Prepare, based upon an understanding of A through D above, a 5-year action program for the members of the Isle au Haut community designed to systematically achieve the future they have selected. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /ISLE AU HAUT/
