Archeology testing : Jordan Pond House parking facilities; Acadia National Park; Mount Desert Island, Maine

Linck DC. 1982. Archeology testing : Jordan Pond House parking facilities; Acadia National Park; Mount Desert Island, Maine. United States. National Park Service. Denver Service Center. Denver, Colorado

ARCHEOLOGY: Archaeologists dug some test holes near the Jordan Pond House Parking lots to determine the nature of the artifact deposits in the area. 'The purpose was to determine the nature and significance of a dense artifact deposit and structural features before they were buried or destroyed during construction of parking facilities for the newly reconstructed Jordan Pond House (USDI 1981a). Results of the testing indicate that no significant cultural resources will be impacted by the construction.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Jordan Pond House/
