Objectives of study were to: '1. determine whether visually detectable symptoms of ozone damage occur in natural populations of selected native plant species in Acadia National Park in August and 2. determine the feasibility of using a point-based system of sampling to assess ozone injury. ' 'Individuals of five plant species were surveyed for symptoms of ozone damage. These were: spreading dogbane, broad-leaf aster, flat-topped aster, small sundrops, and black cherry.' /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /ACADIA NATIONAL PARK/
