From Introduction, 'This report describes the sampling methods and results of the 1995 monitoring season, and offers recommendations for future consideration. Summary data for 1995 are included in Appendix A, and Appendix B contains charts comparing 1995 results with historic data.' Surface grab samples were collected during mid-April from 22 lakes within and adjacent to the park and were tested for pH, conductivity, alkalinity, and apparent color. In addition, intensive monthly sampling (May - September) was conducted at 5 lakes (Eagle Lake, Echo Lake, Upper Hadlock Pond, Seal Cove Pond, Witch Hole Pond). Monthly measurements included: transparency, dissolved oxygen/temperature profiles, and both epilimnetic core and bottom grab samples were analyzed for pH, conductivity, alkalinity, and apparent color. During June, July, and August a subset of lakes were analyzed for nutrients (total P, total N) and chlorophyll a. Bacterial monitoring was conducted weekly from mid-June to mid-September at Sand Beach, Sand Beach lagoon (enterococci), Echo Lake, and Lake Wood (Escherichia coli). Tables of raw data are included as an appendix. Appendix B contains historic data comparisons (1981-1995) looking at secchi depth, pH, conductivity, and alkalinity for Eagle Lake, Echo Lake, Seal Cove Pond, Upper Hadlock Pond, and Witch Hole Pond.
