FIELD WORK: 1926-1932. Original records and type specimens are stored at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. INSECTS & ARACHNIDS: Contains a list of spiders, centipedes, and millipedes, with collection dates and localities noted. GEOLOGY: Contains a map showing the distribution of different bottom types (i.e. blue clay, rocky, gravel-shell, soft, and hard) in Frenchman Bay. INVERTEBRATES: Quahogs were collected in Clark's Cove (1927 and 1928) indicating that this cove used to be sandy. Quahogs were not noted after 1928 on Mount Desert Island. The marine species noted include: Sarcodina (34), Porifera (26), Cnidarians (61), Kinorhyncha (3), Annelida (74), Crustaceae (164), Chordata (Ascidiacea) (12), Ctenophora (1), Platyhelminthes (1), Nemertinea (6), Brachipoda (1), Echinodermata (18), and Mollusca (144). The freshwater and terrestrial species noted include Platyhelminthes (4), Annelida (9), and Crustaceae (31). Terrestrial crustaceae are noted on Bar Island and Long Porcupine Island (5 species). FISH: Their methods of collecting did not lend themselves particularly well to the capture of fishes. Records were kept of fish noticed. Notes dogfish, skate, eel, minnow, sticklebacks, pipefish, sculpin, alligatorfish, lumpfish, sea robin, butterfish, cod, haddock, hake, flounder, and goosefish.
