Soukup M and Mitchell NJ. 1981. Preliminary Report: Evaluation of the Water Quality of Marshall Brook, Acadia National Park. NAR Water Resource Program Report #6

FIELD WORK: 8 July 1981. Records water test results from samples taken at 9 site locations on Marshall Brook, locations on Marshall Brook and in landfill drainage ditches (the same sites as in Hansen, 1980). Constituents measured include: specific conductance, temperature, pH, concentrations of iron, nitrate, nitrite, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, chloride and sodium, ammonia, phosphate, aluminum, zinc, and color. Many of these constituents, including unionized ammonia, were elevated in the main drainage ditch west of the landfill and were affecting portions of Marshall Brook as well. Notes no evidence of improvement since 1979 study /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Marshall Brook/Worcester Landfill/Southwest Harbor GIS-CATEGORY 2 ; Hydrology: Maps sample sites
