FIELD WORK: August - November 1984. 20 biomonitoring plots were established to study the impact of air pollution on Eastern White Pine. Trees were scored for general vigor and ozone injury, size structure was analyzed, and elemental analyses were conducted for 14 elements (N, P, K, Ca, S, Mg, Mn, Fe, Zn, B, Cu, Na, Al, Pb). Sulfur levels in the needles were reported to be high and at a 'threatening' threshold. Overall, ozone injured trees were widely and mostly randomly dispersed through the Park, although most prevalent at the northern perimeter of Eagle Lake. White pine exhibited ozone sensitive symptoms. No injury was found on White ash. Presents ozone monitoring data for 1983 and 1984 (June - September).
