FIELD WORK: July 1992. Objective was to inventory the vertebrate fauna and vascular flora of Schoodic Island using methods that could be repeated as part of a long-term monitoring program. In addition, this inventory was a pilot project for a National Park Service initiative to inventory the flora and fauna of national parks with the assistance of teams of Earthwatch teacher-volunteers. Inventoried amphibians, birds, mammals, reptiles, and vascular flora, established a baseline for island mapping, and established permanent photo points for use in long-term monitoring. /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /ISLANDS/Schoodic Island GIS-CATEGORY 1 ; Includes UTM coordinates for permanent transects on the island
