Resource management plan: Acadia National Park

National Park Service, Acadia National Park. 1970. Resource management plan: Acadia National Park. National Park Service. Acadia National Park

From the introduction: "Through foresight and initiative the National Park Service has been granted the custodianship of an idea and its actuality. Our responsibility is imaginative management of an island group whose grace held attention of the first venturing European explorers, islands that have collided with the tools and machinery of man. Management must present people with an opportunity to meet Acadia on its own natural terms, and to understand why it is preserved."
