'This progress report describes the application of the visitor experience protection process (VERP) to the Acadia National Park carriage road system for December 1993 to October 1996. It includes an account of carriage road research supporting VERP and preliminary management decisions thus far. Future work for the carriage road VERP process and preferred management strategies (tentative) are also described. The framework for the report is the nine steps of the VERP process.'
