Following taken from Summary section of report: "I visited seven sites and saw or collected a totalof 45 species of Odonata. Most notable was the discovery of a population of the salt-tolerant species, Erythrodiplax berenice, on Northeas Creek, Bar Harbor. This is the first record for the species on Mount Desert Island. Also observed for the first time on the island and in the same habitat was Libellula luctuosa. I note recent successional changes in two boreal habitats that may be indicators of climate change that is also correlated withthe range extension intothe area by species with southern affinities. Odonata I collected on Mount Desert Island between 1968 and 1997 were deposited in the Museum at Acadia National Park as stipulated by the park collecting permits." /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Northeast Creek/Big Heath/Sunken Heath/Ripple Pond/
